Welcome to Aurora Self Catering Orkney

We offer two separate self-catering units on the mainland of Orkney.

Furso is a traditional Orcadian langhouse located in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, close to Harray and Stenness lochs. This property has been in the Flett family for centuries, and still maintains many of the original features today – including box beds, an open fire, and flagstone floors. Modern comforts, such as an electric shower, washing machine and underfloor heating, have been added to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. It sleeps up to six people – dogs are also more than welcome!

Startin, on the other hand, is a four-bedroomed house located in the centre of Kirkwall, the main town on the island. A short five minute walk from the centre of town yet still in a quiet location, the property also comes with private parking and a sizeable garden. It sleeps up to seven people.

Both locations are ideally situated for exploring Orkney. The historic sites of Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe are a short drive away from Furso, whilst the St Magnus Cathedral is a mere few minutes’ walk away from Startin. Please have a look at our dedicated page to see some of the diverse activities and attractions that Orkney has to offer.

Whichever property you choose, you can be assured that your stay with Aurora Self Catering will be enjoyable and that you will go home from your break refreshed.
